Overview

Day 01: Haridwar to Barkot – Gateway to Yamunotri

Upon arrival at Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport/Railway Station, begin your sacred Char Dham Yatra towards Barkot via the beautiful hill station of Mussoorie.

En route, visit the scenic Kempty Falls, one of the most popular waterfalls in Uttarakhand. Enjoy the refreshing atmosphere and lunch amidst the Himalayan beauty.

Continue your drive through picturesque mountain roads to Barkot, a peaceful town situated near the majestic Bandarpunch Peak. Surrounded by natural beauty, Barkot serves as an important stop for pilgrims traveling to Yamunotri and Gangotri.

Day 02: Barkot – Yamunotri Temple Excursion – Barkot

After breakfast, drive towards Janki Chatti via Phool Chatti and Hanuman Chatti. From Janki Chatti, begin the trek to the sacred Yamunotri Temple.

Pilgrims can complete the trek on foot or hire ponies and palanquins at their own expense. The route passes through lush forests, waterfalls, mountain streams, and breathtaking Himalayan scenery.

At Yamunotri, devotees offer prayers at Divya Shila and take blessings of Goddess Yamuna after bathing in the warm waters of Jamunabai Kund. Pilgrims also prepare rice in the hot Surya Kund springs and carry it back as sacred prasad.

Yamunotri Temple is regarded as the source shrine of the holy River Yamuna, believed to be the daughter of the Sun God and sister of Yama.

After darshan and spiritual rituals, return to Barkot.

Day 03: Barkot to Uttarkashi – Spiritual Himalayan Town

After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi, a sacred town located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River.

Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and later visit important temples including Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Kuteti Devi Temple, and Ekadash Rudra Temple.

Known as the “Kashi of the North,” Uttarkashi shares spiritual similarities with Varanasi. The town is also famous for nearby attractions such as Dodital Lake, Nachiketa Tal, and Dayara Bugyal.

Spend the evening amidst the peaceful Himalayan surroundings.

Day 04: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Harsil Valley – Uttarkashi

After breakfast, proceed towards Gangotri Temple, one of the holiest shrines of the Char Dham circuit.

En route, stop at Gangnani to enjoy a holy dip in the natural hot water springs. Continue through the stunning Harsil Valley, known for its snow-covered peaks, apple orchards, and pine forests.

Upon arrival at Gangotri, take a sacred dip in the River Bhagirathi and perform Pooja at the temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga.

You may also explore nearby attractions such as Gomukh Glacier, Kedar Tal, Kedar Ganga Sangam, Dharali Village, Submerged Shivling, Nelong Valley, and Tapovan Trek.

After sightseeing and spiritual rituals, drive back to Uttarkashi.

Day 05: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi – Scenic Mandakini Valley

After breakfast, begin your drive towards Guptkashi through beautiful Himalayan landscapes.

Enjoy mesmerizing views of the sacred Mandakini River flowing near Tilwara. Guptkashi is an important pilgrimage town associated with Lord Shiva and the Kedarnath Yatra.

After hotel check-in, visit the revered Ardh Narishwar Temple dedicated to the combined form of Shiva and Parvati.

Day 06: Guptkashi – Kedarnath Dham Trek

After breakfast and mandatory medical formalities, drive to Sonprayag and begin the journey towards Kedarnath Temple.

Pilgrims can complete the trek by foot or hire ponies and doli services. Surrounded by majestic snow-clad mountains, Kedarnath is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and an important part of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage.

Upon reaching Kedarnath, seek blessings at the temple and participate in spiritual rituals and darshan.

Day 07: Kedarnath Darshan – Return to Guptkashi

Wake up early morning to attend the divine Abhishek ceremony at Kedarnath Temple. The peaceful morning atmosphere and temple chants offer a truly spiritual experience.

After darshan, visit nearby sacred attractions including Bhairavnath Temple, Shankaracharya Samadhi, Gaurikund, Chorabari Lake, Vasuki Tal, and Deoria Tal.

Later, trek down to Sonprayag and drive back to Guptkashi.

Day 08: Guptkashi to Badrinath – Evening Aarti

After breakfast, continue your Char Dham pilgrimage towards Badrinath via Joshimath.

After check-in, explore famous attractions around Badrinath including Charan Paduka, Panch Shila, Panch Dhara, and Mata Murti Temple.

In the evening, attend the divine Aarti ceremony at Badrinath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Dinner and overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 09: Badrinath – Mana Village – Rudraprayag/Kirtinagar

Early morning, take a holy bath in Tapt Kund and seek blessings at Badrinath Temple.

Later, visit Mana Village, the last Indian village near the Indo-Tibetan border. Explore famous mythological sites such as Bhim Pul, Saraswati River, Vyas Gufa, Pandava Caves, and Vasudhara Falls.

After sightseeing, drive towards Rudraprayag or Kirtinagar via Joshimath.

Day 10: Rudraprayag/Kirtinagar – Rishikesh – Departure

After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, known worldwide for yoga, spirituality, and peaceful Himalayan surroundings.

Visit iconic attractions including Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, and Sivananda Ashram.

In the evening, experience the serene Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan on the banks of the holy River Ganga.

Later, transfer to Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport for your onward journey with unforgettable memories of the sacred Char Dham Yatra.
