Overview

Day 01: Arrival in Patna – Kumrahar & Patna Sightseeing

Upon arrival at Patna Airport or Railway Station, our representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in and some relaxation, begin exploring the historic city of Patna.

Visit Kumrahar, an important archaeological site associated with the ancient Magadha Empire and Buddhist heritage. Later, continue sightseeing with visits to famous attractions such as the Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library, Patna Museum, and the iconic Gol Ghar.

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Patna.

Day 02: Patna – Nalanda – Rajgir Sightseeing

After breakfast, drive to Nalanda, home to the world-famous Nalanda University Archaeological Complex, one of the oldest centers of Buddhist learning in ancient India. Walk through the ancient ruins of monasteries and temples, and visit the Xuan Zang Memorial Hall, dedicated to the renowned Chinese Buddhist traveler and scholar.

Later, continue to Rajgir, the ancient capital of the Magadha Kingdom and an important Buddhist pilgrimage destination. Visit the magnificent Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Pagoda) built by Japanese Buddhists on Ratnagiri Hill.

You will also explore Griddhakuta Hill (Vulture’s Peak), where Lord Buddha delivered several sermons, along with Venu Vana Monastery and the historic Bimbisara Jail.

After sightseeing, check in to the hotel in Rajgir. Dinner and overnight stay in Rajgir.

Day 03: Rajgir – Bodhgaya – Mahabodhi Temple & Dungeshwari Caves

After breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya, the sacred place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and later visit the revered Mahabodhi Temple Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in the world.

Explore the sacred Bodhi Tree and several international Buddhist monasteries in Bodhgaya.

Later, proceed for an excursion to the Dungeshwari Cave Temples, also known as Mahakala Caves, where Lord Buddha practiced severe penance before attaining enlightenment. You will also visit Sujata Village, associated with the offering of kheer to Lord Buddha by Sujata.

Return to Bodhgaya for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04: Bodhgaya – Varanasi – Sarnath Excursion

After breakfast, drive to Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world and a major spiritual center of India. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.

Later, proceed for an excursion to Sarnath, the sacred Buddhist site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at Deer Park (Rishipattana). Visit major attractions including Dhamekha Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihara, Buddhist temples, and the Archaeological Museum.

In the evening, attend the peaceful ritual ceremony at the Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple. Guests may also participate in meditation sessions at nearby monasteries or arrange a special sermon by a Buddhist monk.

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 05: Varanasi Sunrise Boat Ride – Transfer to Shravasti

Early morning, enjoy the spiritual beauty of Subah-e-Banaras with a sunrise boat ride on the holy River Ganges. Witness the ancient ghats of Varanasi including Manikarnika Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, Assi Ghat, and Tulsi Ghat while observing the sacred rituals performed along the riverbanks.

After breakfast, drive to Shravasti, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites where Lord Buddha spent many monsoon seasons preaching Buddhism. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Shravasti.

Day 06: Shravasti Sightseeing – Lumbini Transfer

After breakfast, visit the famous Buddhist sites of Shravasti including Saheth & Maheth, Jetavana Monastery, Angulimala Caves, Ananda Bodhi Tree, Ghoshitaram Monastery, Angulimala Stupa, and Anathapindika Stupa.

Later, drive towards Lumbini in Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Guests are advised to carry the required travel documents and visas for crossing the Indo-Nepal border.

Upon arrival in Lumbini, check in to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07: Lumbini – Kapilvastu – Kushinagar

After breakfast, explore the sacred birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama in Lumbini. Visit the Maya Devi Temple, monasteries, meditation zones, and other important Buddhist landmarks.

Later, drive to Kapilvastu, the childhood kingdom of Prince Siddhartha. Explore attractions such as Tilaurakot Museum, Kapilvastu Palace Complex, and surrounding archaeological remains connected with Buddha’s early life.

Continue your journey to Kushinagar, the place where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Kushinagar.

Day 08: Kushinagar – Kesaria – Vaishali – Patna

After breakfast, visit the important Buddhist attractions of Kushinagar including the Mahaparinirvana Temple, Rambhar Stupa (cremation site of Lord Buddha), and the Japanese Temple.

Later, drive towards Patna via Kesaria and Vaishali. Visit the magnificent Kesaria Stupa, considered one of the tallest and largest Buddhist stupas in the world.

Continue to Vaishali, where Lord Buddha delivered his last sermon. Explore important attractions including the Ashokan Pillar, Ananda Stupa, Buddha Stupas, Abhishek Pushkarni, and Kutagarshala Vihara.

After sightseeing, proceed to Patna and check in to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 09: Departure from Patna

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Patna Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
