Overview

Day 01: Delhi – Lucknow – Shravasti

Early morning, board the Jan Shatabdi Train from Delhi to Lucknow. Upon arrival at Lucknow Railway Station, our representative will warmly receive you.

After lunch, proceed by road to Shravasti, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage destinations associated with Lord Buddha’s teachings and miracles. On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Shravasti.

Day 02: Shravasti Sightseeing – Lumbini

After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Shravasti. Visit the sacred sites of Saheth and Maheth, including Jetavana Vihara, where Lord Buddha spent many monsoon seasons preaching Buddhism. Also explore Angulimala Stupa, Anand Bodhi Tree, ancient monasteries, and Anathapindika Stupa.

Later, drive towards Lumbini in Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. (Guests are advised to carry a double-entry visa for India and a single-entry visa for Nepal.)

Upon arrival in Lumbini, check in to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay in Lumbini.

Day 03: Lumbini Local Tour – Kushinagar

After breakfast, visit the sacred birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama in Lumbini. Explore important attractions including Maya Devi Temple, Eternal Peace Flame, Lumbini Museum, Thai Buddhist Monastery, and Myanmar Golden Temple.

Later, drive to Kushinagar, the holy site where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana.

On arrival, check in to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay in Kushinagar.

Day 04: Kushinagar – Kesariya – Vaishali – Patna

After breakfast, proceed for local sightseeing in Kushinagar. Visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple, home to the reclining Buddha statue marking the place where Lord Buddha took his final breath. Also explore Rambhar Stupa, the cremation site of Buddha, and the Japanese Temple.

Later, drive towards Patna with en-route visits to Kesariya and Vaishali. At Kesariya, explore the magnificent Kesariya Stupa, one of the largest ancient Buddhist stupas in the world.

Continue to Vaishali, the place where Lord Buddha delivered his last sermon. Visit Ashokan Pillar, Ananda Stupa, Abhishek Pushkaran (Coronation Tank), Buddha Stupas, and Kutagarshala Vihara.

After sightseeing, continue your journey to Patna and check in to the hotel.

Day 05: Patna – Nalanda – Rajgir – Bodhgaya

After breakfast, drive to Nalanda, home to the ancient Nalanda University Archaeological Complex, once one of the greatest centers of Buddhist education in the world. Also visit the famous Xuan Zang Memorial Hall built in honor of the Chinese traveler and scholar.

Later, continue to Rajgir, the ancient capital of the Magadha Kingdom and an important Buddhist pilgrimage site. Visit the World Peace Stupa (Vishwa Shanti Stupa), Griddhakuta (Vulture Peak), Venuvan Monastery, and Bimbisar Jail.

After sightseeing, proceed to Bodhgaya. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay in Bodhgaya.

Day 06: Bodhgaya Sightseeing – Dungeshwari Caves

After breakfast, explore the sacred attractions of Bodhgaya including the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built at the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Visit the holy Bodhi Tree and famous Buddhist monasteries built by different countries.

Later, excursion to Dungeshwari Cave Temples (Mahakala Caves), where Lord Buddha practiced severe penance before enlightenment. Also visit the sacred Sujata Village Temple associated with the offering of kheer to Lord Buddha.

Return to Bodhgaya for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07: Bodhgaya – Varanasi – Evening Ganga Aarti

After breakfast, drive to the spiritual city of Varanasi. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and relax.

In the evening, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Experience the divine atmosphere as priests perform rituals with lamps, chants, and devotional music on the banks of the holy River Ganga.

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 08: Varanasi Sunrise Boat Ride – Sarnath Excursion

Early morning, enjoy the spiritual charm of “Subah-e-Banaras” with a sunrise boat ride on the River Ganga. Witness the famous ghats of Varanasi and observe the vibrant rituals and traditions along the riverbanks.

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Sarnath, the sacred site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at Deer Park (Rishipattana). Visit the famous Buddhist Temples, Dhamekha Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihara, and the Archaeological Museum.

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 09: Varanasi Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport or Varanasi Cantt Railway Station for your onward journey.
