Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu – Welcome to Nepal
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, your tour leader will provide a short briefing about the upcoming Buddhist pilgrimage journey in Nepal.
Spend the rest of the evening at leisure and relax after your journey. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Boudhanath Stupa & Kopan Monastery Tour
After breakfast, begin your spiritual exploration with a visit to the sacred Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest and most important Buddhist stupas in the world. Surrounded by colorful prayer flags and monasteries, the stupa is a major center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal.
Explore the important monasteries and nunneries around Boudhanath including Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling, Shechen Monastery, Thrangu Monastery, Khachoe Ghakyil Ling Nunnery, Dilyak Monastery, and Khawalung Monastery. You will also visit the Taragaon Museum, which showcases Nepal’s Buddhist heritage and history.
After lunch, continue to the peaceful Kopan Monastery situated on a hilltop overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. Founded in 1970 by Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the monastery is internationally renowned as a center for Buddhist learning and meditation.
Return to the hotel in Kathmandu for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Swayambhunath Stupa – The Famous Monkey Temple
Following breakfast, proceed for a visit to the ancient Swayambhunath Stupa, one of Nepal’s oldest and most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites with a history spanning over 2,000 years. Perched on a hilltop, the stupa offers panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley.
Explore the Swayambhunath Complex including the iconic Monkey Temple, Dipankara Buddha shrine, Hariti Temple, Sleeping Buddha statue, and the five Bodhisattva shrines surrounding the main stupa. You will also visit the Pratappur Temple, Anantapur Temple, and Shantipur Temple located within the complex.
After sightseeing, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 04: Kathmandu to Lumbini – Excursion to Kapilvastu
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Bhairahawa. Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Check-in to the hotel and relax for a while.
Later, proceed for an excursion to Kapilvastu, the ancient kingdom and childhood home of Prince Siddhartha Gautama before he attained enlightenment. Explore important attractions including the Kapilvastu Kingdom Complex, Tilaurakot Museum, and the serene Lumbini Garden area.
Return to Lumbini in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05: Lumbini Sightseeing – Birthplace of Lord Buddha
After breakfast, visit the sacred birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama in Lumbini, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in the world.
Explore the Maya Devi Temple, built at the exact spot where Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Lord Buddha. Continue your tour with visits to the Eternal Peace Flame, Lumbini Museum, Thai Buddhist Monastery, and the beautiful Myanmar Golden Temple.
In the evening, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 06: Departure from Kathmandu
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for your onward journey. Depart with unforgettable memories of your spiritual Buddhist tour in Nepal.
