Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu – Welcome to Nepal
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, relax and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. You may explore the nearby markets or simply unwind after your journey. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Boudhanath Stupa & Kopan Monastery Tour
After breakfast, begin your spiritual journey with a visit to the sacred Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest and most revered Buddhist stupas in the world. Explore the peaceful surroundings filled with prayer flags, monasteries, and chanting monks.
Visit important monasteries around Boudhanath including Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling, Shechen Monastery, Thrangu Monastery, Khachoe Ghakyil Ling Nunnery, Dilyak Monastery, and Khawalung Monastery. You will also explore the Taragaon Museum showcasing the rich Buddhist heritage of Nepal.
Later, continue to the famous Kopan Monastery, founded in 1970 by Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche as a center for Buddhist teachings and meditation. Enjoy the calm spiritual atmosphere before returning to your hotel in Kathmandu for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Swayambhunath Stupa & Buddhist Heritage Tour
After breakfast, proceed for a visit to the ancient Swayambhunath Stupa, popularly known as the Monkey Temple. Perched atop a hill overlooking Kathmandu Valley, this sacred site has been a center of Buddhist worship for over 2,000 years.
Explore the Swayambhunath Complex including the iconic stupa, Dipankara Buddha shrine, Hariti Temple, Sleeping Buddha statue, and the beautiful Pratappur, Anantapur, and Shantipur temples. The complex also houses several Tibetan monasteries, libraries, and museums reflecting Buddhist traditions and culture.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Evening free for leisure activities. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 04: Excursion to Pharping – Monasteries & Sacred Caves
After breakfast, drive to the spiritual village of Pharping, located south of Kathmandu Valley. This sacred Buddhist destination is closely associated with Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), who is believed to have attained the level of Mahamudra Vidyadhara here.
Explore the meditation caves and sacred sites linked to Guru Rinpoche and Milarepa, the famous Tibetan saint known for his dedication and spiritual discipline. Visit the renowned Vajrayogini Temple and the Palyul Retreat Centre, home to Khenpo Namdrol Rinpoche and the Rigpa Shedra Buddhist institute.
After a peaceful day of exploration and meditation, return to Kathmandu in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05: Namo Buddha Monastery Excursion
Following breakfast, set out for a scenic drive to Namo Buddha, one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal. According to Buddhist tradition, this sacred site marks the place where Lord Buddha, in one of his previous births, compassionately offered his body to a starving tigress and her cubs.
Visit the beautiful Namo Buddha Monastery surrounded by serene hills and panoramic Himalayan landscapes. The peaceful environment makes it an ideal place for meditation, reflection, and spiritual connection.
After spending quality time at the monastery complex, return to Kathmandu in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06: Departure from Kathmandu
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for your onward journey. Depart with unforgettable memories of your spiritual Buddhist pilgrimage through Nepal.
