Overview

Day 01 : Patna Arrival – Explore Ancient Buddhist Heritage

Arrive at Patna Airport or Railway Station, where our representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in and some relaxation, begin your local sightseeing tour of Patna.

Visit Kumrahar, an important archaeological and Buddhist heritage site associated with the ancient Mauryan Empire. Later, explore some of Patna’s famous landmarks including the historic Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library, the fascinating Patna Museum, and the iconic Golghar, known for its panoramic city views.

Return to the hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Patna.

Day 02 : Patna – Nalanda – Rajgir Buddhist Circuit Tour

After breakfast, drive towards Nalanda, home to the world-famous ancient Nalanda University, one of the oldest residential universities in the world. Explore the ruins of the Nalanda University Archaeological Complex and visit the Xuan Zang Memorial Hall, dedicated to the Chinese traveler and Buddhist scholar Xuanzang.

Later, continue your journey to Rajgir, the ancient capital of the Magadha Empire and an important pilgrimage destination for Buddhists. Visit the magnificent Vishwa Shanti Stupa situated atop Ratnagiri Hill, built by Japanese Buddhists as a symbol of peace.

Also explore Griddhakuta Hill (Vulture Peak), where Lord Buddha delivered many sermons, along with Venuvan Monastery and the historic Bimbisar Jail.

After sightseeing, check in to the hotel in Rajgir. Dinner and overnight stay in Rajgir.

Day 03 : Rajgir – Bodhgaya – Mahabodhi Temple & Dungeshwari Caves

After breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya, the sacred place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and proceed for sightseeing.

Visit the revered Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in the world. Also explore the sacred Bodhi Tree and various international Buddhist monasteries built by different Buddhist countries.

Later, proceed towards Gaya to visit the famous Dungeshwari Cave Temples, also known as Mahakala Caves, where Lord Buddha practiced severe meditation before enlightenment. Continue to Sujata Village Temple, associated with the story of Sujata offering kheer to Lord Buddha.

Return to Bodhgaya in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04 : Bodhgaya – Varanasi – Sarnath Excursion

After breakfast, drive to Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world. On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax for a while.

Later, proceed for an excursion to Sarnath, the sacred Buddhist site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at Deer Park after attaining enlightenment. Visit the famous Dhamekha Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihara, and the Archaeological Museum of Sarnath (closed on Mondays).

In the evening, you may attend the peaceful ritual ceremony at the Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple or participate in a meditation session at a nearby Buddhist monastery. Special Buddhist sermons by monks can also be arranged on request.

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 05 : Varanasi Sunrise Boat Ride – Departure

Early morning, enjoy the divine atmosphere of Subah-e-Banaras with a sunrise boat ride on the holy River Ganges. Witness the spiritual beauty of Varanasi’s ancient ghats as pilgrims perform rituals along the riverbanks. During the boat ride, you will pass famous ghats including Manikarnika Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, Tulsi Ghat, and Assi Ghat, each carrying deep historical and religious significance.

Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, transfer to Varanasi Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey with unforgettable memories of the sacred Buddhist pilgrimage circuit in India.
