Day 01 : Varanasi Arrival – Sarnath Excursion & Buddhist Prayer Ceremony
Upon arrival at Varanasi Airport/Railway Station, our representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in and some relaxation, proceed for an enlightening excursion to Sarnath, one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage destinations.
Sarnath is the holy site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at Deer Park (Rishipattana) after attaining enlightenment. Explore the major attractions including the Dhamekha Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Buddha Temple, Mulagandha Kuti Vihara, and the Archaeological Museum, which preserves ancient Buddhist relics and sculptures.
In the evening, attend the peaceful ritual ceremony at the Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple and experience the spiritual ambiance of Buddhist chants and prayers. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Varanasi.
Day 02 : Varanasi – Sunrise Boat Ride – Bodhgaya – Mahabodhi Temple Visit
Early morning, enjoy the spiritual beauty of Subah-e-Banaras with a sunrise boat ride on the holy River Ganges. Witness devotees performing rituals along the ghats and experience the timeless culture of Varanasi.
During the boat ride, explore famous ghats such as Assi Ghat, Tulsi Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, and the sacred Manikarnika Ghat, known as one of the oldest cremation grounds in the world. Every ghat has its own religious and historical significance.
Return to the hotel for breakfast and later drive to Bodhgaya (approx. 300 KM / 6 Hours). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and relax.
Later, visit the sacred Mahabodhi Temple and the holy Bodhi Tree, the exact place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. The Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is among the most revered Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world.
After sightseeing, return to the hotel for overnight stay in Bodhgaya.
Day 03 : Bodhgaya – Dungeshwari Caves – Rajgir Sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed for local sightseeing around Bodhgaya and Gaya. Visit the famous Dungeshwari Cave Temples, also known as the Mahakala Caves, where Lord Buddha practiced intense meditation and penance before attaining enlightenment.
Later, visit the sacred Sujata Village Temple, associated with Lady Sujata, who offered kheer to Lord Buddha before his enlightenment journey.
You may also explore the beautiful international Buddhist monasteries of Bodhgaya, including the Burmese Monastery, Tibetan Monastery, Japanese Temple, and Chinese Temple, each representing unique Buddhist traditions and architecture.
Later, drive to Rajgir (approx. 85 KM / 2.5 Hours). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and begin sightseeing of the ancient city of Rajgir, once the capital of the Magadha Empire and an important Buddhist pilgrimage center.
Visit the famous Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Pagoda) built by Japanese Buddhists atop Ratnagiri Hill. The stupa beautifully depicts the four major stages of Lord Buddha’s life — birth, enlightenment, preaching, and Mahaparinirvana.
Also explore Griddhakuta Hill (Vulture Peak), where Lord Buddha delivered several important sermons, along with Venuvanaram and the historic Bimbisara Jail.
Dinner and overnight stay in Rajgir.
Day 04 : Rajgir – Nalanda University – Patna Sightseeing – Departure
After breakfast, drive to Nalanda (approx. 12 KM / 30 Minutes) to explore the world-famous Nalanda University Archaeological Complex, one of the oldest centers of Buddhist learning in ancient India.
Walk through the historic ruins of monasteries, temples, and lecture halls, and later visit the Xuan Zang Memorial Hall, dedicated to the renowned Chinese Buddhist traveler and scholar.
After sightseeing, continue the drive to Patna (approx. 100 KM / 3 Hours). Visit Kumhrar, an important ancient Buddhist and Mauryan archaeological site in Patna.
Later, transfer to Patna Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey with unforgettable memories of the sacred Buddhist pilgrimage tour in India.
