Day 01 : Patna Arrival – Kumrahar & Patna Sightseeing
On arrival at Patna Airport/Railway Station, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in and some relaxation, begin your local sightseeing tour of Patna, a city rich in Buddhist and historical heritage.
Visit Kumrahar, an important archaeological and Buddhist site associated with the ancient Mauryan Empire. Later, continue your sightseeing tour with visits to the famous Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library, the fascinating Patna Museum, and the iconic Golghar, one of the major landmarks of the city.
In the evening, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Patna.
Day 02 : Patna – Nalanda Excursion – Rajgir Sightseeing
After breakfast, drive towards Nalanda, home to the world-famous ancient Nalanda University, one of the oldest centers of learning in the world. Explore the impressive ruins of the Nalanda University Archaeological Complex and learn about the glorious history of Buddhist education in ancient India. Also visit the Xuan Zang Memorial Hall, built in memory of the renowned Chinese traveler and scholar.
Later, continue your journey to Rajgir, the ancient capital of the Magadha Kingdom and an important Buddhist pilgrimage destination. Visit the magnificent Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Pagoda) situated on Ratnagiri Hill, built by Japanese Buddhists and adorned with beautiful statues depicting various stages of Lord Buddha’s life.
Also explore Griddhakuta Hill (Vulture Peak), where Lord Buddha delivered many important sermons. Continue sightseeing with visits to Venu Vana and the historic Bimbisar Jail.
After sightseeing, check in to your hotel in Rajgir. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 : Rajgir – Bodhgaya – Mahabodhi Temple – Dungeshwari Caves Excursion
After breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya, the sacred land where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and proceed for local sightseeing.
Visit the revered Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in the world. Explore the sacred Bodhi Tree, under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment, and visit various international Buddhist monasteries in Bodhgaya.
Later, proceed for an excursion to Gaya and visit the famous Dungeshwari Cave Temples (Mahakala Caves), where Lord Buddha practiced intense meditation and penance before reaching Bodhgaya. Also visit Sujata Village Temple, associated with the story of Lady Sujata offering kheer to Lord Buddha.
After sightseeing, return to Bodhgaya. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04 : Bodhgaya / Patna Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Bodhgaya Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
Guests may also choose to drive back to Patna for departure from Patna Airport/Railway Station.
